The construction of a wind
park started in village of Kardam
"Technomash
BIG" JSC started the construction of wind park
with capacity 12.6 MW in the village of Kardam,
municipality General Toshevo. The Client is a Swiss
joint stock company Stream Invest Holding, and
Contractor is one of the biggest industrial groups
in Bulgaria – Technomash BIG. The 6 wind turbines,
each with capacity 2,1 MW, are produced by Suzlon
Wind Energy – fifth world producer of wind turbine
generators, based in India.
In regard with this order,
Mr. Erik Pedersen, Executive Director of European and Latin
American Branch of Suzlon Energy, said: „This is an
important step forward in our efforts to enter in new and
developing wind markets. Bulgaria offers perfect wind regime
and favorable investment climate. We are proud to work in
team with Technomash – a leading industrial group in
Bulgaria, and we are confident that with this project we
place the foundations of strong future cooperation"
Technomash BIG is a company with long experience in the
realization of various industrial projects of significant
scales. It is managed by very innovative team, which looks
ahead into the future and turns its sail in direction of the
wind. The company is specialized and perfected in
construction of wind parks and other projects, related to
renewable energy sources. Here is what the manager Mr.
Stefan Stefanov says:
„Despite the difficult economic conditions, the renewable
energy sources are one of the leading branches in the world
business. On one side these projects due their priority
status to the threatening ecological catastrophe and on the
other side – to their financial advantage.
The Kardam project is small to medium scale on a world
basis, and for Bulgarian it is one of the most significant
achievements not only with economical, but also with social
value. Such projects improve the reputation of our country
in Europe and according to us the capacity of Bulgaria for
renewable energy projects shall be utilized as soon as
possible. For this purpose it is necessary to have
government and community support and ingenuity of Bulgarian
business.”
The wind energy is the most rapidly developing renewable
energy source in the world. Its advantages are the lower
prime costs and investments, compared to other ecological
energy sources, and of course the free wind power. Since
1990 there is a growth of approximately 26% annually. In
this process Europe has the leading role, the basic leaders
being countries like Germany, Denmark and Spain. The aim of
EU is up to 2010 12% of the energy to be produced by
renewable sources, according to EU directive adopted in 2001
for stimulation of electric energy from RES.
In Bulgaria up to 2020 16% of the energy shall be produced
by inexhaustible sources, according to directive 2001/77/EC
(Directive for renewable energy)
The conditions become more and more favorable – during the
last 30 years there is decrease in the amount of rain- and
snowfalls and there is an increase of wind powers. Due to
reasons like the global warming and the deforestation of our
territory, there are big temperature disproportions, which
in fact cause the moving of air flows.
