On Friday,
December 10, the Swiss investment company Stream
Invest Holding AG and Technomash-Bulgarian
Industrial Group AD inaugurated their first wind
park in Bulgaria. Project „Kardam” was realized
during the last 18 months in the region of Dobrich
and consists of 6 wind turbines Suzlon S88 with
capacity 2,1 MW each. The investor for the project
is Stream Invest Holding AG, and main contractor and
supplier of the equipment is Technomash-Bulgarian
Industrial Group AD.
With total installed
“green” energy capacity of 12,6 MW this project is another
important step towards the achieving of the national aim of
Bulgaria of 16% share of the renewable energy in the total
national consumption of electric energy in 2020.
This wind park is the pilot project of the investment
pipeline of SIH in Bulgaria. The total capacity of planned
power amounts to 150 MW. Except the construction of wind
parks, SIH and Technomash plan as a further step of their
cooperation, to begin the production of towers and equipment
for wind generators in Bulgaria, which would create
employment, would attract foreign investments and last but
not least would be the first such undertaking in our
country.
The total investments in project Kardam amount to 23 million
EUR. The project is finances with equity of SIH and funded
by two banks in Bulgaria: MKB Unionbank AD and DSK Bank EAD,
which in the crisis year 2009 trusted us and Wind park
Kardam was the only new wind park in Bulgaria which received
project financing during the last year. We will emphasize
again that during the crisis this project supported many
Bulgarian companies assigning construction and installation
works for more than 6 million EUR. Except the purely
financial impact, this project is important for the
experience and self-confidence, which the Bulgarian
companies acquire, as well as the trust of their foreign
partners.
Stream Invest Holding AG (SIH) was founded in 2004 as a
company investing on an international basis in the renewable
energy sector, with main focus on the wind energy. The
company operates in 8 European countries through
international network of subsidiaries and partner companies,
assuring everything necessary for their operative activity.
The strategy of the company is the creation of entirely new
subsidiary network, as well as the investments in existing
companies and agreements with competent partners.
As a
main contractor and supplier of the equipment Technomash
ensured the turn-key construction of the project, including
all construction works, transport, installation, completing
of the electrical and optical parts, testing, commissioning
and maintenance of equipment, as well as the construction of
the grid connection facilities.
SIH and Technomash are proud of their mutual success and the
experience acquired with this project and both companies are
already looking forward to their future cooperation. At
present the companies prepare the realization of the next
energy projects in Bulgaria.
